POETRY

Poetry is one of genres of literature. It is an unimaginative piece of oral or written work full of musical sounds. That is to say works that creates particular sound sensation, which appeals to the ear of listeners. These similar and dissimilar sounds put together in organized manner provoke the feelings and emotions of the listener.

Poetry is such way turns to be an art which has the ability to represent and reflect human experiences effectively, as to create and build up universal appeal and interest. These human experiences are propelled and moved by emotions.

In fact…Poetry has no particular standard definition…How? Ok I'll explain…for example many poets have their particular concept and view on what poetry stands for them…Lets take Coleridge as an example…mmm Coleridge is a famous Poet, but I'm not sure what is his nationality and I'm not sure if his name is spelled by the above way….but he said 'a poem is that species of composition which is opposed to works of science, by proposing for its immediate object pleasue'….another poet like William Wordsworth says ' Poetry is the image of man and nature' and he also said…Poetry is the spontaneous over flow or powerful feeling'….

And now…let me mention the most important saying for ….Opps I forgot his name but he said a very important statement …he said:

'POETRY IS LITERATURE, USUALLY OF A HIGH DEGREE OFHUMAN INTEREST, IN ADITION TO ITS HUMAN INTEREST, HAS IN IT AN ADDED AESTHETIC INTEREST DUE TO THE ARRANGEMENT OF SOME EASILY RECOGNIZABLE AND CONSTANTLY PRESENT CONCOMITANT OF THOUGHT FORMULATION INTO A FORM OF ASTHETIC APPEAL FOR WHICH AN APPRECIATIVE AESTHITIC SENTIMENT HAS BEEN GRADUALLY DEVELOPED IN THE MIND OF THOSE WHO HABITUALLY THINK BY MEANS OF THE LANGUAGE IN WHICH THE POETRY IS WRITTEN'

Therefore…Poetry arises from the nature desire of man either to reproduce what he or she sees and hears, or to express in permanent way and style what he thinks and feels…

In regarding to the use of speech…poetry uses speech in two distinct ways:

FIRST as rhythmical sound which is one of the media of expression in terms of the senses …

SECONDLY as representative of delineating and describing ideas of every possible character by means of the symbolical significance of language…
A Poem is not a story. In a poem what happened, where and when…how and why is nt told…in a poem what is there is only the expression f the emotion itself . This emotion and passion could be nostalgic, a sense of yearning to the glorious past or could be outrageous causing unbearable anger…or it could be lustful or a sense of loss and alienation…could be agony and internal pain and could be …what ever it can be…

In a poem…the emotion is directly …concisely profanely expressed…in poetry the narrative question is all left unanswered

Poems are like novels and plays share some common concern such a a senseof wordplays, a sharp consciousness of some particular feeling and emotion….

Poems…tend to share the following characteristics:

there are rhymed….They have regular rhythm internally and externally ….They describe something beautiful or ugly….They state a universal truth…They elevate human thoughts…They make human kinds feel better….They tend to teach and advice people….they offer aesthetic pleasure and create taste of beauty and civility…..

And at last my friendz…I would like to mention that…the poetry is a reflection upon the various phenomena that form human life and the world…what I wanted to say is some knowledge of other related subjects such as philosophy , anthropology , sociology, etc are very important to assist you in appreciating poetry…
